SERVICE PROJECTS

International Literacy Day (Sept.8) - Books for Indonesia

Altrusa International Dekalb/Sycamore Club worked with books for Indonesia to help them collect books for International Literacy Day (Sept.8).  BFI is a Chicago based registered non-profit organization dedicated to collecting new/used books from local schools, public libraries and individuals to be sent to remote areas in Indonesia in need of books in English.  BFI sorts, labels, inventories, packs and ships the donated books.  On Sunday, Sept. 8, the director of BFI drove out to DeKalb with a van to pick up the books.
